## Explanation

Widely used in retail and pharma supply chains; assigned by national GS1 member organisations and validated by a final check digit.

In EN 16931 a GLN can populate BT-34/BT-49 (Electronic Address) with schemeID 0088, or BT-29/BT-46 as a Seller/Buyer identifier.
